Solved: oracle.adfmf.application does not exist

Post installation of JDeveloper (12.1.3) and after adding the MAF Extension, I created a sample MAF Application by following this tutorial (Oracle JDeveloper 12c (12.1.3) Tutorials - Setting Up Mobile Application Framework ).

I received an error in the console stating that "oracle.adfmf.application does not exist" in "LifeCycleListenerImpl.java" (This is created automatically when you select an MAF Application).

I did some research and stumbled upon the fact that adf-mobile-javadoc.jar contains what I need. Hence the jar was added and the issue disappeared.

Steps to follow:
1. Right-Clicking the ApplicationController project
2. Select "Project Properties..."
3. Select "Libraries and Classpath"
4. Add "JAR/Directory..."
5. Browse to the installation directory of JDeveloper (<InstallatonDirectiry>\jdeveloper\jdev\doc\studio_doc\ohj)
6. Select "adf-mobile-javadoc.jar"
7. Click "Open"
8. Click "OK"
9. Select "Save All"

The error should disappear.

Oracle Fusion (Business Intelligence) - Creating an Analysis using "Create Direct Database Query"

If  you ever have a requirement in which you need to create an Analysis but do not find the right Subject Area for it, then you can use the "Create Direct Database Query" that OBIEE offers.

Or if you want to place the results of a BIP sql query on a Dashboard (by creating an Analysis).

Depending on your requirement, you may choose to use this option.

Lets look at the steps to do this:

1. Login to OBIEE (BI Tool)

2. Select New > Analysis > Create Direct Database Query

3. On the Criteria tab
 a. Connection Pool = "HCM_OLTP"."Connection Pool" (add the quotes as well)
 b. SQL Statement = SELECT Last_Name from PER_PERSON_NAMES_F

Note: For FSCM use "FSCM_OLTP"."Connection Pool"

4. Click the "Validate SQL and Retrieve Columns"

5. Select the Results tab
You should see the results that your query returned

6. Save the Analysis
